Incase you have had your head in the sand, I shall inform you that tomorrow night it is the Super Bowl, the biggest night in American Football (NFL) and it is a family tradition in the Smith household to watch it. So, if you're not a big NFL fan, or just need a bit of persuading to stay up till 3am then here are my 10 reasons to watch the Super Bowl:
- You get thoroughly educated in the American sport - tomorrow sees the Seattle Seahawks play the Denver Broncos, who are they I hear you ask? You'll find out tomorrow!
- Hint - the Broncos wear a horse on their helmet
- The adverts are the most important part - there is no time to get a cup of tea as the adverts are too good to miss. The Budweiser one has already leaked theirs
- I've heard on the grape vine for example that David Beckham in his lush H&M commercial gives viewers the opportunity to tweet #undressed or something like that to see the commercial where he has no boxers on... Very risqué
- Half time is always a great time, I do believe Bruno Mars is performing, the cutie
- You'll learn the actual rules of NFL which do take a while to get the hang of but when a team scores a touchdown you get far too excited
- The teams kit is rather lovely, it's like rugby, there's your big ones with the low numbers then the higher the number the smaller they are, that in Lycra makes for very very good viewing.
- This just researched, the two teams come from the only two states that have legalised marjuana, not sure that's a reason to watch, but it may stimulate some views.
- The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are performing... Topless... Make of that as you will
- And finally, you will have an extra thing in common with me! Isn't that nice
